Tattoo Flash

As I mentioned in the previous post I have recently took break from illustration to focus on getting a tattoo portfolio together. Here are few sheets of tattoo flash I managed to paint last month. It took a while to get used to painting differently as I am used to painting in block colours but it was very fun to learn something new. Every time I have attempted painting flash in the past it hasn't gone to well but I feel I am finally on the right track. I am especially happy with the last two sheets.

I want to paint a couple more sheets to make a full set. Sorry about the bad quality of the pictures. My scanner is destroyed and my camera kept blurring. In the end I took the photos on my phone. If you have any useful advice on getting a apprenticeship please get in touch (lukejinks@gmail.com).

Cheers for looking

Tattoo Sketchbook

I recently took a break from illustration in order to focus on my tattoo portfolio in the hope that I can get an apprenticeship sometime in the near future. Tattooing is something I am very passionate about I have always planned to try and seek an apprenticeship once I had graduated. Here is little preview of some of my sketchbook.

As always thanks for looking.

Tubelord Poster

Hey here is the design for the Tubelord poster that is as we speak being screenprinted in an edition of 500 to be realeased alongside the Tubelord E.P on the 16th of August.

The image is based around an idea given to me by the band of the lunar god, I took inspiration from the title of the E.P and tried to give the artwork an Aztec feel.

Anyhow I hope you enjoy, be sure to go out and buy a copy when it is realeased.

Tubelord E.P Artwork

Recently I was asked to produce the artwork for the new Tubelord E.P 'Tezcapilpoca'. The artwork was based around a story that band gave me, which included three kings called Arbor, Ratchet and Bazel who go to visit the Lunar God. The image its self was based upon an old painting I managed to come across of the trinity of god which include the three faces of the lord on one head. I like the way it turned out and it was nice to work on something a little different to usual.

The E.P will be realeased by 'Hassle Records' on the 16th of August and will be on sale in stores across the U.K. Each 10' copy will come complete with a hand screenprinted poster (edition of 500) which I have also designed.

The White Horse

A new painting based around the story of the white horse. This painting shows the the horse laying dead on the floor and its sprit leaving its body. Legend has it that the sprit of the white horse haunts the plains to this day.

Red Horse

Another small painting based around the story of the white horse. This picture depicts the prince who is responsible for the killing of the white horse.

Rainning Arrows

Here are some very simple patterns I have been working on. The patterns are part of a set I want to create based around the Native American tale of the white horse.
